I bought the carbon mudguard from another site offering it as "pro carbon front mudguard". and at £25 i assumed it would be carbon or atleast have some carbon on it. But no, its made out of lexan, the same material rc car bodyshells are made out of. It looks very stylish and works very well but the price is very expensive for what you are receiving. I have now purchased the matching rear fender aswell, and the carbon colour matches well with my silver and white bike. Fitting the mudguard is very easy and fits virtually all forks, with 1 1/8 steer tubes, there is also some play in the mudguards design so there is no gap between the fork and two sides of the guard.
Been using this guard for a couple of months now
Initially found it to be a complete pain getting it fitted to my RockShox Dart 3's, the chunky crown of the forks made it a very tight fit to get the guard in place and required some bending of the bracket to stop it dipping into the tyres.
Bottom line is it does the job you would expect, obviously it's not long enough to keep the muck off your lower legs and feet, though generally keeps you free from mud above knee height which is basically what it's intended for.
Perhaps somewhat expensive for what it is, though it looks good and does it's job
This fender looks really nice and high-quality, however the mounting bracket and the rubber expansion part doesn't fit my fork (Marzocchi MX Pro ETA 2007). The bracket's middle part is offset too much so a part of the fender interferes with the frames down tube (even after I bent the bracket to try to fix it). The rubber expansion part is too thick and I have to use all my strength to shove it inside my fork's tube, and it only goes in half-way. I'm rating the fender quite high, because it's obviously a quality piece itself. I'm going to machine a suitable bracket myself, and either find a matching rubber piece or just cut this one a little with a knife.
