Ive been riding these for 6 years. There an extremley hard waring tyre. Ive had them on my commute bike riding tarmac for 5 years (1000+ miles!) there extremely light, very fast rolling and provide excellent grip in the dry due to there total contact design. Lastly there high air volume makes pinch flats rare. 2' versions as big as 2.2 maxxis.
If Carlsberg made tyres they would be pythons!
One of only a handful of tyres which work well here in Spain in the dry months.Loose over hardpack, sand etc these are hard to beat.
Maxxis La**ens and Specialized fast track are others favoured here in dry conditions. But nothing holds air as well as a python. The team i ride for are sponsored by Maxxis, but i prefer to pay and use pythons.
Just bought a pair to put on my Mavic XM819s and they couldn't have been easier to mount, took less than a minute per tyre. I'm using Hutchinsons Protect Air sealant for extra anti-puncture insurance. Inflated with a compressor and they popped on to the bead easily with no soaping required. Good volume for a 2.0, and I'm running 25psi though they could easily go lower. They are currently holding air like a regular tyre would. Grip is fine on hardpack and they are FAST, probably faster than any tyre I've used, it's like having a personal tailwind. A little sketchy on sand perhaps and no good in wet mud, they're not intended for that. I'll put a UST Barracuda on the front come October. They do everything they're intended for very well.
