The material is good quality, hard wearing and water resistant and the stitching is tough. You can't go wrong for the price.
Two minor faults:
Firstly the clips are enamelled metal so they scrape the paint of my rack. This could be easily remedied by filing them or taping when I bought them. My blackburn rack is aluminium so it's no big deal.
Secondly the clips are screwed on and the fixings come loose on the inside of the bag and need to be periodically tightened. If one comes completely loose the nut will fall into the bag and you should notice before the other one goes and you lose a clip. Periodic tightening (every 3 months) is advised.
Again you can't go wrong with these for the price. I have mine for 3 years and they're still in top condition!
I gave these bags a 4-star review based on first impressions, but with a year of regular daily use, on both a pedal cycle and a motorcycle, I simply can't find any fault with them. The clip on fitting make them very practical for shopping, they're... well, if not 100% waterproof, they're very water repellant, and they can swallow an enormous amount of gear or shopping due to the generous length of the straps and inner bag. I regularly stuff both bags full of heavy shopping (cans, drinks bottles, beer) and they stubbornly refuse to wear through or come loose from the rack.
I keep trying to find excuses to buy more expensive pannier bags for my motorcycle, but in all honesty, I can't justify it, since these bags have just kept going and going and going for thousands of km. If I ever get tired of swapping them back and forth, I might as well just buy another identical set.
I bought a set of these about three months ago, and this product is very good!
Under heavy rain for hours it held perfectly (the inside was completely dry).
Also, the space is very generous!
The only thing that needs improvement is the "structure" that stays next to the rack, it folds more than it should and I suppose it could have a more rigid material to make it hold better.
Great value for the money, I'm a happy customer.
