X-Tools Bottom Bracket Tool Octalink/Square
The X-Tools BB tool fits cartridge bottom brackets including those with oversized Octalink® "pipe billet' spindles. The 20 tooth spline interface fits securely into the bb cup for easy removal.
I use it to mount a Shimano UN-54 on my old steel bike with a FACOM torque wrench and a 25mm (if I remember well) hexagon socket and it was easy. No slipping at all, worked fine to the BB specified torque. Did the job at no cost. Recommended if you want to mount/remove Shimano square tapper bottom brackets
This tool, combined with several foot of leverage and lots of swearing and sweating, did manage to remove a very stuck 16 year old BB. The top edges of the tool's pins were pretty bent out of shape by the end though, so if I were to buy another, I would spend a few more quid on a better quality one if there's one available. If not I would still buy this, but make sure you've got it clamped firmly in place, because I don't think it will survive much accidental abuse under pressure.
