Almost all ODI grips are of excellent quality, used by many top pros like Steave peat, and heralded by MBUK reviewers. Where the Ruffian stands out is in its sturdiness and "strong" feel. It really enables you to grip hard whilst retaining sufficient comfort. They look nice - plain and simple - and although they are less hard wearing than, say, the Yeti Hardcores (which are indestructable) they grip better and are easier on the hands. My advice, get ODIs, and in particualr, if you ride hard, get these. If you are a DJ'er or a Trails rider get somehting else.
these grips are ACE!!! although in the first few days your hands take a beaten' there really grippy and look mint. they do have their down side as they wear down also sometimes the clamps start gapping also the calmps quite febal... if u buy these get HOPE bar end plugs in blue the look sweet... not x-lite
They look absolutely class on the bike, I replaced a very similar "diamonized" bog standard grip, as I wear gloves most of the time (try baseball "tacky" gloves - they grip like a somalian to dinner ticket!)
The only problem is getting the lock-on rings on as they are a tight fit and you could easily break the plastic tabs to which they attach if you're too heavyhand (I put it on one side then pressed it VERY hard against a wall - I bench 100kg so i'm not exactly weak and it was still a bit of an effort)
I would suggest putting them in some hot water (not boiling but around 70-80c to make the plastic more plyable especially in winter as if its freezing then plastic is more brittle - dont blame me if it messes your grips up as I haven't tested this out)
Anyway once you get the collars on, stick 'em on the bar tighten the screws and fit endcaps - they're propper bashment rudey badmon - I woldn't waste money/resources on other endplugs as the ones supplied are really cool looking and stay put just fine.
