Description
The Speedmatic features the traditional magnetic brake and a 1 kg balanced flywheel. The remote resistance lever changes the position of the magnets in the brake unit relative to one another. There are 10 different resistances available: from a light breeze on a flat road through to a steep hill climb. The indication scale shows the setting selected. The power increases as you cycle faster and/or at a harder setting.

i've never used or bought a Turbo before so this was a bit of a gamble. I've used this one about 6 times since purchase and i think it's brilliant for the winter months or if i can't get out due to looking after the kids (any parents out there will understand :) ). It gives a more thorough workout than a normal ride and does mean you perspire alot in the house as there is no breeze to cool you. One word of warning - copnsider buying a specialised tyre for the turbo as they tend to wear normal tyres very quickly. Brilliant turbo though.
I agree with the other comments regarding the use when you have dont have a lot of time.
It does get warm using it. Set up was ok, not a problem, no real changes for a road bike. I am a larger rider,I am a larger, yes that was twice, and it has not collapsed yet and seems pretty sturdy.
Well made and easy to use. The resistance is good and I expect it will keep me going in terms of challenges well over the winter. Tire wear is looking like it eats up the rubber. I also use the front wheel to give it a level feeling.
The resistance lever increases fine but is a bit fiddly to decrease or it could just me gasping for air. Not sure what the impact is on a real ride but I am expecting great things as I feel tired but great after using it.
Overall I think its great and would recommend it.
