The new puncture resistance. The all new Vectran breaker belt, developed and patented by Continental, surpasses even the famous puncture resistance of the former leader in this category, the GP3000. The extremely strong Vectran fabrics are more flexible and lighter than all other puncture protection materials. Vectran offers more resistance to cuts than Aramid, is five times as strong as steel and features less weight than a nylon double breaker. It also maintains strength in the wet.
The new compound The advanced Activated Silica Compound (ASC) increases the handling threshold for even safer yet faster cornering and reduces the rolling resistance of the Grand Prix 4000. A new anti-cracking formula prevents UV light from damaging the compound and increases the mileage performance.
The new tread Features new tread wear indicators to help riders gauge the life of their GP4000 tyre. On the one hand you don't lose mileage performance by prematurely replacing the tyre and on the other you don't risk safety by using the tyre beyond its tread service life

Well long story short, the best tyre i've ever owned and it's damn cheap if you ask me!
Works great on all surfaces, wet or dry, uphill or downhill, standing og sitting, slow or fast.
At 205 g a piece one should think you would get a flat tyre easy. I ride them with maxxis fly weight tupes that are VERY thin and haven't had any punctures yet. Seems lige the vectran (lightweight and claimed to be 5 times as strong as steel!) protection is doing it's job perfectly.
I've only bought two sets of these tyres and they have taken me well over 10'000km so far (still going with the second set) and I can count the number of flats on one hand. They are super grippy in wet and dry conditinos with very low rolling resistance. At high speed and high pressures they are solid and perform better than any tyre i've raced/trained on. My dog could fit them and he's an idiot without opposable thumbs (no offence to my dog of course). Gatorskins and these are the only tyres i'll ever buy.
These are a great tyre. But I chewed through my rear too damn fast. I've since pushed my rear pressure up to 160psi .. and they handle it nicely. Tyre drop is greatly improved .. and my tyre wear is significantly less. If you're a clydesdale like me .. give it a try if you haven't already.
