Unlike our friend from Norway I find it better that the waist sits a bit higher, as I have these trousers for winter wear - helps keep the lower back a bit warmer. I find them not too windproof but with a pair of medium weight tights underneath they function well enough. Have worn them over my Assos bibshorts in October (ca. 5 deg. C) and found them warm enough. Plenty of room in the knee area with the elastication assisting well - I am 6' 5" and weigh about 112kg so that is plenty of praise for the fit.
Would recommend them to anyone for autumn/spring tours, a bit on the parky side without any thermaltights for winter. Due to these I have just ordered the Humvee shorts and 3/4s for this season also.
I have owned these trousers fro about three months now and have worn them over a dozen times on XC trails of varying difficulty. I find them to be comfortable, warm, waterproof and most importantly when you fall off as much as I do, hard wearing.
With regard to the other review on here by the gentleman from Norway, I can only assume that he has bought the wrong size trousers, as I am of average height and build an have had no such fitting issues with this product.
These were exactly what I was looking for. They don’t look like something from the 80’s, they don’t flap around and they are light. Yes they are tighter than the average DH/Freeride pants. I’m 176cm, 78-80kg and have the medium size. The air vents down the front of the thighs really help on a warm day. I would give them 6 out of 5 for the shape and material but the belt is rubbish. DON’T buy the inner shorts. The M must have stood for midget because I couldn’t get them past my nuts. And they get all tangled inside the trousers.
