i've had the 2006 slayer, when all the changes were made,i loved that bike but felt it sat into it's travel a little too much, this 07 version has cleared that up,rear end is super stiff and with propedal on 3 almost like a hardtail, frame has also lost weight and looks cleaner and more bling with the carbon rear, hand masked paint job on the red white version is beautiful,nd you won't se many about so exclusive, mine weighs under 30lbs,but i've changed EVERYTHING,i only left the crank and headset on everything else i swapped for lighter and stronger parts, i now have one ride to rule them all,and in the darkness bind them, p.s this is my third rocky,i just love the quality. |

| You would be hard pressed to find a better bike for this money. The frame is beautifully made and the paint job is fantastic. Luckily I bought mine in the summer so I wasn't (too) afraid to ride it when new! The weakest link (apart from the tires; bin them immediately!) is probably the AM1 fork; I blew the damping cart while doing some fairly hard riding in Norway. I replaced it with a Fox Float 36 RC2 which was a vast improvement, and fits the bike much better. I've also upgraded the wheels (Mavic 819 + Hope Pro 2) and brakes (Magura Louise Carbon 8"). The result: a bike which goes uphill as quickly as my friends' 10kg hardtails but eats virtually everything going downhill. Nine thumbs up! |

i was riding my bike along a nice flat road surface with a friend who paid about £200 quid for his bike, when he turned to me and said you have wasted your money buying such an expensive bike, my bike can just as easily keep up with yours. hmmm i said follow me, as to which i took him on an off road course near by, and this is where the slayer becomes a machine, over the unstable rocky terrain the shocks and rear suspension perform fantastically the speed at which you can travel over such unstable ground is great, the bike is so light and manageable that you are always in complete control of the bike whether at highs speeds or tight technical maneuvers, the brakes are very responsive meaning you can stop in a instant. steep hills become non existent as the bike breezes up them, and descends them in style. oh sorry i forgot about my friend well i think he is still out there somewhere trying to get back. when i met up with him a few days later his words were "your bike blew me away like a fart in a hurricane" and "oh I've ordered one to" (Point Proved) |
