Upgraded to this XT 3 months ago from a Deore derailleur. What a difference! The XT is superb..light, strong, sleek and oh so smooth. Mine are still being run with the Deore shifters; can't wait to upgrade to the XT shifters. Those who complain about the way it allows multiple upshift..stop being t**ts and just buy the top normal XT next time!

I agree with " KISH " I also upgraded from Deore and the difference is the XT is much smoother and quicker but be warned : If you use more than one bike as I do - you must have the same system on both bikes or you will f... up in the heat of battle - so , it's all " rapid rise " or it's all " standard " unless you're a woman ( they think faster and generally remember better too !!! )Unfortunately .

using it on my cyclocross 10 speed..perfect in
winter and bad weather..works better than ordinary
road derailer in winter time when you shifting with snow and mud on the derailer..rapid rise is a new way for road bike
shifting..i live in north norway where we havwe very tuff winters ..try it..fits 10 speed shimano
chain..
