Had to move to external bearings after bearings on FSA titanium taper bb failed within 10 months and they are not replaceable which is a disgrace. So, what do I like about this new set up; easy to fit (frame shell already faced), very stiff, it certainly feels as though more power is being put through the cranks, better chainring bolts. What don't I like: heavier by 100 gms, cannot dial in an exact chainline for a rohloff (though it's not far off) concern about bearing wear from other users, purchase of yet another bb tool, yet another bb standard coming out called BB30 which will obsolete my frame next time.
Ive owned this crankset in black for the last year and a half.
Pros: Very, very stiff. Hard wearing. Chainrings are super tough. Reliable. Good shifting.
Cons: BB bearings and seals are weak. Fairly heavy.
Crank arm colour has worn.
Chainset came on new bike. After two months of riding BB has play from grit getting inside BB wearing out bearings (no wet muddy riding conditions, dry dusty, yes). Pay a bit extra and get shimano xt, that is what I will be doing.
