I bought one of these last week from CRC and wore it on a 100k audax ride over the weekend. It did exactky what you want from a base layer - regulated temperature, wicked sweat away and was very comfortable.

Merino base layers seem all the rage at the moment but this item shows that manmade fabrics can still compete on functionality and are obviously a lot cheaper.

Fits snug which works very well under other clothes for a cold commute. I use this most of the time and would recommend this as standard wear for any cyclist. It should be worn under another top during cold weather and if it is warmer, you might get away with just this under your jacket. It's like an extra skin if you know what I mean. It keeps be warm enough that I don't notice the cold. Now that it is coming into the summer, I suppose I won't need this too much now, but we'll see. I am kind of attached to it now. I must get more.

I have owned the previous version of this top for 2 1/2 years now & it gets a lot of use. I hear that Merino wool doesn't smell but I've not had a problem with this one- It's done three long day rides on the trot without serious odour problems. Snug fit, comfy, you don't know you're wearing it. Good for other winter outdoor stuff as well. Highly recomended.
