I was surprised to see shimano selling clothing, but the price was right and the description matched what i needed so I figured they were worth a punt as I have never really had anything from shimano that wasn't good value and well designed .
That can be said of these they are well made and I really like the designe for slightly warmer winter days . The front of the leg has a thick windproof with a thinner softer material at the back , the bib is mesh so they should be just right for early spring and and winter . The pad is nice quality and the fit perfect worked from the size chart .
I haven't used them for a season yet but first impressions are very good indeed . maybe more suited to the shorter or medium leg rider . The leg length may come up a little short if you are a very tall 6' plus slim build . Iam the opposite and short and stocky and the usual too long leg bunching behind the knee etc isn't a problem . As the size chart says up to 5'11" iam 5'9" .
Nice warm and toasty tights that are excellent at keeping the chill off your legs even on a frozen morning, windproof, comfortable padding, the only slight complaint, that could be put down to personal preferance, is the mesh bib section doesn't do such a good job at keeping you kidneys warm. Easily overcome with a decent base layer but I'm always trying to reduce the amount I carrying about / wearing, that said say good bye to knee warmers
I Bought these last week as i cant resist a bargain!! IM 5'8'' with a 30'' leg and i went for the large size.. the sizeing on these is very odd as i know for a fact i dont have long legs and these just about fit, ive only just worn them once in weather conditions of about 10c and didnt find them as warm as i was expecting them to be! maybe ive been spoilt with my trusty nalinis? I suppose at the end of the day for 50 euros there ok..but ok is as far as i would stretch! Next time i wear them i wont use the heel strap so i might be able to stretch them a little.. So to sum up i would say..shimano thick to what your best at! I wouldnt buy a nalini groupset afterall!!!
