Under normal conditions – i.e. not loaded, on-road and under ordinary braking - expected tread life should be over 6,500 mi (10,000 km).
Bought the 28 mm version for a CC bike. After nearly 3000 km of riding, including lots of rough gravel roads, I have had only one snake-bite puncture (not really the fault of the tire). Despite aggressive braking at times, they show very little wear. I would expect these to last at least another 3000 km, so they seem to be excellent value for money.
The tyre is perfectly named Durano, it is no doubt very very durable & has amazing puncture resistance given the road conditions in India. And it's quite light too, great to have this in 28mm with folding bead, for this very reason it sits on my Long Distance rig. Till date not even a single puncture though during one of the long rides where the road was under construction the front tyre got cut a little due to the sharp stones yet it's held up greatly & has no sign of giving in. I definitely recommend this tyre.
I rode a 120km ride on the weekend. The weather and road conditions were amongst the worst I have ridden. There were 3000 riders on the ride and from kilometre #1 riders sterted to puncture. All along the ride on the side of the road there were people fixing punctured tyres. Not me. The Schwalbe Durano's 700C x 23 handled the wet, rough & potholed roads beautifully. I can really put my trust in these tyres and will buy them again - when they eventually wear out.
