I have had these pads for about a year and they fit really well and are quite comfy. I have had many average falls with these on and they stay in place and stop your elbows and forearms getting hurt.
However I have recently destroyed one in a high speed crash at Castleton in which I landed hard on it when I was using my arm to shield my face (after getting carried away jumping stuff flat out and forgetting about looking for a landing, and ending up being flung over the bars), so it took the full force of my fall, it absorbed most of the impact then slipped round my arm as I slid along. I do have a good friction burn, a cut, and bit of bruising on my elbow, but I think that these pads did a very good job because if I wasn't wearing them I know I would have broken something in my arm and I would have taken a chunk of flesh out of my arm aswell, and I wouldn't have been able to carry on.
Basically these pads stop pretty much all injurys in a normal crash, and will prevent serious injury in a big crash.
Buy them! I bought these and the matching leg guards only a week or so ago. What a brilliant peice of timing. This morning, I was working a late shift so decided to go for a rare blast on my own. It was the same drop in we have done time and time again. only this time I woke up to realise I had come off at high speed and ploughed my face, arms and legs into about 4inches of hard soil. I was miles away from anyone who could help. After I got the wind back in my lungs, I got up, dusted myself off and finished the ride. There is not doubt in my mind that if I had'nt been wearing these I would have broken something and would possibly still be lying there now. Genius bit of kit.
Comfy to ride in all day.

They dont slip on my arms.
Saved my bacon already. Better to have them and not need them, than it is not need them and not have them.
these guards are great for sliding on instead of your forearms but whilst riding I ound that they slide down areound the bicep and subsequently end up not protecting your elbow. is possible that it is because when using them I had much smaller arms but asides from that they are great as I found out when coming up short on a jump which I kept going but my bike stopped . great and thick plastic offers good protection
