Having tried to run bare footed in many different pairs of shoes (nike, asics, addidas, salomon) and always ended up with massive blisters on my foot arch i was a bit skeptical about those. However, they proved to be excellent. I am heavy for my size (178cm and ~88 Kgs) but i felt that the cushioning was appropriate over a distance of 10 Kms. I will not use those for anything more than a DO tri. The speed lacing is, well, speedy. There are 2 "finger tags" (for lack of a better word) which you can use to slip into your shoes : on the heel and on the tongue. The back of the shoes is rigid, which provide a good foot hold. the inside is very soft, the sole is all under my foot and foot arch, and i was blister free over my 1st 10 Kms. A little issue though, in hot conditions (cote d'azur in early April) my feet were quite warm. I think this is due to the fact that the inner sole is made of cotton, but i am also warm blooded. Overall an excellent product, well worth the price tag.
