The name Grand Prix has become a brand of its own in cycling circles worldwide. The Grand Prix is the classic tyre marking quality and performance.
Not unlike its predecessor, this generation is eager to change traditional standards. The new Grand Prix marks the trend toward wider tyres in performance cycling.

If you need road bike performance - without a road bike - this is it. I put a pair on for my annual London to Brighton, and other road events, every year. Really supple and comfortable (for a road bike tyre!) with low rolling resistance when run at 100 psi. Later versions tough, but earlier versions with skin walls can be fragile if scraped against kerbs, etc. If you have disks just be careful as these are quite thin and will become badly worn if you regularly lock up.
Forget about the other road tyres for MTB 26" wheels out there - these are the best! If you pump them up to the max pressure - 116psi, (not 120 as stated in the description) you really have to watch your speed round the bends. Easy to forget you don't have half the grip with these as normal MTB tyres, but its worth the compromise. Have tried Maxxis Xenith 1.5's and Continental Sport Contact 1.6's previously and they have nowhere near the low rolling resistance as these. I also use 23c size Continental GP4000 tyres on my road bikes, and these aren't far off the mark, believe me. Buy them, you won't be disappointed (but take it easy!)
I was running 26x 1.5 conti's on my winter training bike ( Road spec stumpy with rigid fork) and was getting really good training in, bought these and have not looked back, they are the answer to rough roads and slow times, as good as a conti 700c on the road, super traction and brilliant roll, you will not regret buying these if you want a really good slick for your Mbt, would recommend conti's slim tour tubes 26x 1.18 - 1.3 though as the average tube is too large in diameter
