Description
As you know, there are lots of bike mirrors to choose from, but Bike-Eye® is different, in fact it’s unique. Unlike conventional mirrors Bike-Eye® is mounted against the cycle’s head and down tube, keeping it out of harms way and virtually free from vibration.
The high quality silvered mirror gives an excellent crystal clear long distance rear view and avoids the need for the rider to constantly turn to check what’s going on behind. This is a major boost to safety for riders who find it difficult to turn while maintaining a straight course, a fantastic awareness aid for the regular commuter, leisure rider and the serious cyclists who like to keep their heads down when training or competing.
Bike-Eye® will enable you to be more aware of traffic approaching from the rear but cannot replace a final look over the shoulder to confirm when it is safe to move out or to turn.

I bought one of these as I have a Trek 1.2 WSD. It has a very small frame and there is nowhere to fit a handlebar mirror, either on the bar or on the drops, so the Eye seemed like the perfect option. I agree that it is not perfect as the rider gets a great view of their inner thigh and it is necessary to move one's leg out of the way to get a view, not perfect, but far better than no mirror at all.
I've had this fitted (right side version) to my Claud Butler Olympus XT for about a week now and these are my experiences of it.
Firstly you can't see in the mirror if your right leg is in the down stroke, and if you're pedalling whilst trying to view the mirror then you only really get flashes of the view behind. Therefore you end up having to pause cycling with the appropriate leg up when viewing behind.
In addition, because the mirror is quite narrow vertically, the glance down isn't really sufficient to view the road behind and you find you have to wiggle the frame left and right to give a sort of panning view of the rear. Also, because the mirror is quite low you have to look right down and this means you lose your forward peripheral vision while spending the couple seconds attempting to view the road behind in the mirror, which could lead to accidents depending on how heavy the traffic is where you are cycling.
Lastly; I have found when standing up in the pedals for when you need power my knees knock the mirror, which of course then messes up the alignment and renders it useless until I can stop and reposition it. This may be a condition of the bike model and my height (6'1") but I found there was only a 2" gap between my knee and the mirror when in a normal cycling position.
The idea is an interesting one but I feel the mirror should be positioned further forward, possibly through a bracket, so that it's ahead of the stem and out of knee space. The positives are that the mirror is very clear and vibration is minimal.
As Robert mentioned, due to its designed position, it does not give clear vision as you need to kick your leg out or hold leg in the up stroke to 'attempt' to view behind as it does state in the instructions. I found it to be too distracting and dangerous. Save time and money by choosing a more tradtional/bar mounted mirror. I will have to now. :(
