Got this pedal for trip to afan, as last time i found my standard eggbeaters weren't as stable as i would have liked. Also went for chromo axle as i'm a fat prick.
Platform is plenty big enough to provide support, and makes clipping in easier. However only a fool would try to ride unclipped cause they be slippery devils.
Also had to trim tread of my MO82 shoes, traced outline of platform and carved it down with pocket knife about 1mm, this enabled pedal to function nicely, didn't like shims that came with pedals cause my old cleats are seized into shoe.
after this small job am very happy with performance.
Thought i'd give these a try as i had a few problems in the past with my SPDs. Wow, i'll never go back, these pedals hold you securely onto the bike with confidence, i've never been kicked out of them. To release takes very little effort which gives you the reassurance you just don't get with shimano. Crank Bros are on a winner with these gems!!!
having returned from cycling after a 15 year gap where i used toe clips ,straps and cleats i was amazed how cycling has changed especialy the mind field of SPD's i was a bit concerned about CLIPPING in to the pedal let alone getting out of them.
So i searched the WWW looked at various types of pedals and chose these Crank Brothers candy c they looked so simple and im glad i did ive got use to them very quickly they are easy to get in and a flick with the foot and out they come .
great pedal ive had them caked in mud and with a quick bang with the foot and out comes the mud
