When Hope designed these brakes I am sure they did not consider the size of the cap based on the tool size that was needed
Of course you will need more than one tool if you have different size caps. Does your bike have every bolt with the same size hex head so you can use only 1 allen key ??

Making double ended. Most of the cost has gone into the machining, the steel/alum cost is minimal, so double ended does not make any sense
At £5.99 these are cheap as the machining that has gone into them is fairly complex, also don't forget they will be making around 30% profit the same as CRC so manufacturing cost is around £3, sounds fair to me
