I bought a set from the US, straight out of the box when the dropouts where tightened to the max 6nm torque recommended the axle still didn't clamp it just spun in the dropouts. After loads of e-mails back and forth to Marzocchi USA I recomended taking them to stendec for an independent assessment, dave at stendec said the dropouts should be a max 20.12mm mine where 20.16mm, a minute amount but still enough to stop the axle clamping, dave said it was ok to over tighten them to get the axle to clamp and he'd only ever seen the bolts snap through over tightening on the 888's not the alloy like fox's. so I've took his advice and kept them, the actions great and they work really well, good damping and the front end doesn't dive or blow through the travel like my fox 40's did. had to fit a 2009 hard spring with spacer cos there's no 2011 steel springs anywhere in the world, but you can get a ti spring for £180!! So still some worries about about build quality but I think mine where a one off as no one I spoke to had had this problem before, if you require a different spring than standard your stuffed. but they work and ride better than any other forks I've used. Buy from CRC incase of warranty issues!!
