Before trying anything else, fit these cables and with a drop of Rock N Roll Cablemagic. I wasted £17 on Clarks Pre-Lube cables which made my XTR mech shift like it had a 10-pint hangover. Have ditched the inners, replaced them with these and a drop of lube - now even Mr Shimano would be surprised how silky smooth the XTR is!
Have to agree with Steve. These really cheap cables with Cablemagic is all you need for awesome shifting performance (that and decent mechs, and chain, and adjustment of course).
Just built a bike up with these and Cablemagic to power SRAM X.9 and it's awesome.
They are just CABLES...but WAY cheaper than Halfords...I got 4 for 6 quid delivered. Top quality...don't corrode or stretch. Well worth adding a couple to your next CRC order you know !!! Too useful not to have spares innit !! Highly recommended.
