I also got these on my rockhopper. The rebound works, the lockout works, not sure the compression does anything but they work on my carpet and also outside. They are a bit on the heavy side but they are cheap and they do the job. The dont flex as much as some people say they do on other mtb websites. Some people are just too difficult to please.
They will do for now until I can afford to upgrade.
Nice forks for under £100, but as you would think there are some faults. On cold days when is frosty or there is snow about the travel on the forks works itself down to about 1 inch if you are luckey and becomes VERY progresive below this. Over the last year mine have lost a little oil, nothing to worry about too much they just need a top up. However this oil loss stops the lockout working until the fork is half way through its stroke, this tends to kill your wrists on big hits when the fork suddenley locks out.
Good points, the fork is very stif it dosent flex under high turning loads so stearing is always accurate. They look quite burley on the lower legs and the rebound adjuster works well.
These are so much better than the forks that came with my year and a half £170 mountain bike. They were slightly longer, but no problem once I turned the stem upside down to lower my bars. Not worn the forks in yet, but they seemed fine on some muddy windy bumpy downhills yesterday.
