I've had one of these for a couple of years, it's pretty bright and the battery lasts OK but it's heavy and the bracket is poor so it has a tendency to fall forward. Cateye state the brightness in candlepower which no one else seems to use so it's hard to compare to other lights but it picks out the Deer in Richmond Park OK.
In reduced power mode it generates a lot of interference which stops my speedo from working (also a cateye, you'd think they'd have added some noise reduction to avoid this).
