Well Ive been suffering from cold feet and winter hasn't arrived yet , so After trying Sealskinz / Neoprene over shoes merino wool and a few other combination I opted to try these .. And although I have only used them twice once in a medium rain and muddy as heck and the other occasion was about 7 deg and both time they have kept my feet just right the fell great on and are actually lighter than my Diadora shoes !.. The build quality seem very good the neoprene ankle cuff fits snug and does not restrict at all .. I'm using these with Crank Brothers Candy pedals and they seem just fine , I will report back when I have tried a really cold ride .. Ive been wearing Goretex walking boots for years and it really is great
After much dilema, and cold feet from the end of september, I decided on these shoes over diadora polaris. Normally I'm a 45 but went for 46 to allow for thicker socks and they fit great. First ride in these shoes was a 4 and a half hour 50 miler with wind, rain and mud, with a temperature from 1c to 6c, and these shoes performed great. Comfortable, warm, dry feet all day long. The shoes are good quality and are worth every penny as they should last. Only negative is that you have to pay for cleats. In my opinion these should come with all shoes, especially if you are paying over £100.
This are very sturdy and not too heavy, unless you are seriously into weight reduction. They are comfortable to wear both on and off the bike. I have been riding in my Pearl Izumi summer shoes up to Nov, but it was getting too cold for them. I decided to splash out on the MW81 after a lot of searching and got them for £105 in a sale. They are certainly a lot warmer than my other shoes which you would expect, but I have yet to use them in any serious rain or really freezing conditions. The soles are a bit less slippy than the Izumi's which is a bonus when walking into the office (2 flights of mable stairs). The wrap over feature looks a little cumbersome to get the boot on, but it is really fine. As for size I take a UK size 9 which should equate to a 44, but I went up to a 45 based on other comments and they are ample big enough. I expect I could even wear thicker socks without a problem if it gets really cold.
