Долго ждал хороших односторонних контактов, а то запарился уже ездить на работу на контактных 520 да 540 со вставками, а все предыдущие односторонние(такие как 324 и А530) были довольно унылыми, хотя на покатушках контакты очень нравятся.
Вес этих педалей приятно порадовал, он такой же как и 540+пластиковые вставки PD22. В обычной обуви ездить очень удобно, платформы широкие и длинные по сравнению со стоковыми топталками на большинстве бюджетных велов. Сейчас подшипники уже достаточно разработались, и можно определить как поворачиваются педали в свободном состоянии - почти перпендикулярно земле, примерно на "час", т.е. сторона с контактами получается повернута слегка наверх и смотрит на "10часов". Мне так довольно удобно. Потому как 540 под весом вставок всегда поворачивались контактом кверху, платформой вниз, и приходилось ногой прокручивать педаль чтобы встать на платформу в обычной обуви, зато контактами сразу же встёгивался т.к. механизм получался всегда сверху.
Резюме:
Все односторонние контактные педали это компромис между универсальностью, удобством и перфомансом, т.е. у них несомненно будут свои минусы для обычной обуви и для контактной перед чисто платформенными и чисто контактными педалям. Если сравнивать с 540 и др. двухсторонними контактами+пластиковая или любая другая платформа, то там наверное ощущение удобства в процентом соотношении можно было бы выразить как 15% для обычной обуви и 85% для контактной. В этих же педалях процентаж скорее будет 50 на 50, те. одинаково удобно в любой обуви, но не без соответствующих минусов, это несомненная плата за универсальность.
Вобщем совершенно не жалею о своём выборе, продукт качественный!

| Its a bit pricey of course, but its a great pedal! It uses the excellent mechanism from XTR & XT series. Replacing a good pair of M324 shimano pedals, they offer the same floating angle but firmer restrain to rotate (so it encourages you more to pull the pedal at each cycle to improve efficiency) while being (if you adjust of course rotate the allen bolt towards "-") very easy to disengage. Bearings operation butter-smooth. And of course, very good grip when not wearing my SPD shoes... |

Very happy with these. I bought a pair as they're the only clipless pedals I know of that are legal to use after dark as supplied. The reflectors are recessed into the metal cage, so are well protected from damage.
I was worried that I'd struggle to clip in to the one-sided mechanism reliably, but it wasn't a problem. I never managed to get the hang of toeclips, but these are a lot easier to live with. Their weight is balanced enough that they don't flip the wrong way up like toeclips always do. If you land on the wrong side you can flick them over with your toe, or just take your foot off the pedal for half a turn and they're right side up.
The flat side isn't hugely grippy - the tread's not as aggressive as on most flats. On the plus side that means it won't mangle your shins too badly if your feet do slip off! |
