Mavic 2012 XM317 Rim

The go anywhere mid range rim. Made with the finest 6106 aluminium alloy, eyeleted for more durability, solidly pin joined and UB Control machined sidewalls for efficient braking, XM 317 will bring you anywhere.

Mavic have been making this rim for ages (its previous name was X221), so I guess that's why they're able to sell it at such a bargain price. The X221 used to be £23 in 1998, now CR sell them for £22. Compared to the XC717, it's 20g heavier and pinned rather than welded, but half the price. It's just about the only silver rim you can buy now too.

brilliant set of rims, no problems at all. milled braking surface drastically improves braking. im on a bike with an engine so it weighs about 6 times as much as an aluminium bike and these rims have stayed straight and stop on a dime. they can be relied on
