Mavic 2012 XM719 Disc Rim

The rim for a high end built up Cross Mountain wheelset. Wide enough to allow the use or large volume tyre, but reasonably light, XM 719 Disc answers all of the epic mountain biker's need.

Technologies:

Maxtal: Exclusive to Mavic. An aluminium alloy that is 30% more resistant than a 6106 alloy, for lighter and stronger rims.
SUP: Soudé Usiné Process. After bending, the rim joint is arc welded. The welded seam is then milled for a smooth finish. A welded and milled rim joint is extremely strong, eliminates shuddering when braking, and offers superior wheel balance.

I just bought a pair of these from CRC. I have always used Mavic rims, they have always been strong and reliable. However, these were only what I could describe as seconds, or poor quality copies. They are going back to CRC.. as I feel ripped off!
Firstly the decals are the old style, not the revised type as in the picture. Also the side walls are poorly machined, leaving a razor sharp edge which had rubbed against the other rim in transit removing the black coating. They are definitely not worth the £42.99 each.
