I have used these for ages, rough up the tube and blow away any dust, make sure the tube is dry, peel off backing, keep fingers away from the patch sticky side, put into position and press firmly.
Think I have had one fail but I was asking a bit much of it really (snakebite split), they fix punctures easily, that'll do for me... |

| I've used these patches before and they are great. As with all patching the end result is usually not in the quality of the patch itself, but the quality of it's application. To all the people that think these patches are crap- the patches come with a square of sandpaper which you must use for it to adhere properly. I think the pressure of the tube against the patch when you re-inflate it in the tyre probably also helps with it's adherence. In my experience these patches have lasted just as long as the traditional glue on type and don't leak air. They also have a lower profile and weigh less than the glue on patches. Having said all that, I'm a roadie, so the patches may be better suited to higher pressure road bike tyres than the bigger lower pressure mountain bike tyres. I've also used these patches to repair a split in a tube by overlaying two of the patches. The tube leaked out it's air overnight, but it was still enough to finish the ride and get me home. Every weight conscience road should carry a pack of these. |

| I will never use a conventional patch again. I have been using these for years. There are two things to watch for. First a lot of the reviewers who have given these a low rating say they are excellent in their text. Second if you are using Slime filled tubes you have to make sure you get the tube really clean before applying the patch. This is more a comment on Slime than the patches. |
