Easiest fitted crankset I've ever done (with the proper tools) and works a treat. Can't get over how quiet everything is and how smooth!
Just hope it lasts, but it seems better sealed than the sealed bottom brackets I was using and they were Shimano too.
Chain reaction delivery was just amazing too - as usual.....
This is only a few grammes more than the XT Crankset and in every other way just as good but cheaper....much cheaper.
The rings are the same as XT, in other words made of cardboard, so that they last no time but the crankset represents much better value than the XT or XTR equivalent. If you want hollowtech cranks with dedicated outboard bearings then you would be foolish to pay more for anything above this LX level which is remarkably good.
With quality this good I almost felt like a thief paying only £69.99 from CRC. The huge external bearings give massive stability when pedalling and you feel that evey ounce of effort is going into turning the cranks, which are, needless to say, suitably flex free. Add to this, the simplicity of fitment and you are left feeling that you have spent money wisely. For most riders, LX will be The ideal choice. I certainly haven't regretted it.
