These boots are superb, fully waterproof, great soles for hike a bike and with two pairs of socks are good down to -10inc. windchill as evidenced round Calderdale last year.
The lacing is odd but works really well and the laces themselves have proved indestructible so far.
Uppers are just high enough to deflect spray and allow longs to sit down over the top to stop drip down and the back of the ankle is cut low enough to allow good pedalling action.
If you're serious about your winter riding and seem to ride in the gloop like me then you need these boots.
Having worn these boots all winter, mostly around the Lakes and Dales, I don`t want to stop wearing them even though summer`s on it`s way. Extremely comfortable and waterproof and easy to keep clean if you apply an appropiate nu-buck waterproofing to the outside.(they ARE waterproof, this just keeps the mud off!). No problem with Time Attac pedals. Having heard Shimano can be on the small size I got a half size bigger and they are fine wearing thick socks.
Only have these a weekend but there is no comparison with cheaper shoes for traction when walking. excellent Vibram soles, I'd wear them on a hill walk no problem. They are extraordinarily light for a boot so sturdy, yet lovely soft comfortable nubuck leather. Very comfy for cycling (using with TIME ATAX XS). Highly recommended. Giving 4 stars as I can't speak for duarbility yet, but I have another pair of shimano summer shoes that are 5 years old and refuse to die!
