I bought a pair of these over 2 years ago and I have frequently raced XC in them since. They are easily the best shoes I have riden in. The fastening system is superb and gives a very precise fit. The Lorica upper material is supposed to be an artifical leather and it is certainly as durable. I have only replaced the treads (SRS system) once since I bought them. As I said I have raced in them and commute (200 miles a week)in them, summer and winter and they are still as good as new. The Tecno II rachet fastener and the rotational click fasteners have never failed in all the time I have had them. They have survived rain, mud, ice, snow, road salt (and extreme heat from being left on the radiator to dry!) and are none the worst for it. The only thing is they are not warm in the winter, but hey, they are a race shoe not a winter boot.
I have had at least 10-15 pair of cycling shoes earlier, and these are by far the best. They are incredibly comfortable and fit extremely tight to the foot. This is poor quality. The only con that I can think of ist that they are cold, so you'll need some other shoes or covers in early autumn and spring time.
