I BOUGHT THIS TYRE FOR ROAD RIDING AS I WAS USING 2.3 CONTINENTAL VERTICALS BEFOREHAND. 'DUMB' YOU MAY SAY BUT I HAD TO AS MY CAR DIED AND IT WAS ALL I HAD TO USE FOR TRAVELLING TO WORK. PUT THESE ON MY RIMS WITH EASE, DON'T KNOW HOW THE OTHER GUYS HAD TROUBLE, I'VE GOT A D521 FRONT AND A HALO COMBAT ON THE REAR!!! ANYHOW, I'D RECOMMEND THESE FOR ANYONE LOOKING TO ADD SIGNIFICANT SPEED TO THEIR ROAD TRAVELS. GOOD GRIP IN THE CORNERS, QUIET ON THE TARMAC, NO 'RUMBLE'. GET THEM, YOU SHOULDN'T REGRET IT.
Its taken me about 15 years of biking to finally be bothered and buy some road tyres especially since probably 75% of my riding is on the tar'mac, Why did I wait so long! I never realised a ride could be made a whole lot easier and more comfortable for a mear twenty quid! They felt a bit strange at first and I admit to being a little cautious on cornering but after a few miles I was back to my normal ways. Un-like the other review I found them very easy to put on and I have yet to get a puncture after about 300 miles of riding. obviously if I was to hit the trails I would put my knobblies back on as I dont imagine them being to clever in the mud but thats not what there designed for. So if you want add about 3-4 mph to your averge speed which they have done for me then buy these tyres!
i recently purchased these tyres as i had been slugging to work through london on a pair of the stock mountain tyres on an 8 year old raleigh max!
Not being able to fork out for a hybrid bike just yet, i bought these tyres and wow what a difference they make! relatively easy to fit, and they have turned my ride to work into a cruise to work.
i would highly recommend these as a great tyre for people who are currently using stubby mountain tyres for their ride to work. The difference is awesome and you will never look back!
