Heart rate, power, speed and pedalling frequency are measured and visualised on the modern display on the Flow computer. These data provide an important instrument for targeting and improving physical fitness, efficiently - resulting in optimum performance. During development much attention focused on the information that appears on the display. The brake indicator, for example, shows brake performance in graphic form. A histogram shows the slope, enabling the cyclist to view the settings at a glance. Moreover, you can select the training information you want to display. Another point of interest is the simple operation. By setting the power or slope resistance, you can adjust your program while training, to suit your own needs. You can even calibrate the brake to ensure accurate power measurements at all times. Flow comes with a matching-colour Skyliner front wheel support, which corrects the position of the bike ensuring a natural cycling posture.

| I bought my Tacx trainer last year after a heavy fall. Assembling the unit was difficult with broken ribs but it was well worth the effort. The power readings gave me a new insight into how I should train and became a huge motivation for me. My improvement was dramatic and coupled with a heart rate monitor gave me very useful feedback. A lot of cyclists spend large amounts on their race machines for quite minor improvements in performance. I feel that the cost of this ergotrainer provided easily the best return in improved performance in recent years. The beauty of using this machine is that you know exactly what you are doing and allow accurate MEASUREMENT of improvement. Specific workouts are goal oriented and much more beneficial than just going for a ride. |

I did plenty of research into turbos and after careful deliberation decided to go with the flow, despite every reviewer being critical of the difficulty of assembly.
Got it out of the box and had a look, there are only really 2 bits to attach to the frame .............so how hard can it be? An hour later the answer was….very hard indeed, clearly the difficult bits are left for the buyer to do as the chaps at Tacx found it too tricky. Nil out of five for this part.
For the price however this is a feature rich trainer, speed / power / cadence etc and a good range of resistance. I would be a bit skeptical of the power readings....but as long as they are consistent you have something to measure against.
Can’t emphasize enough how bad the instructions and assembly are but once this is over it’s a good product.

| I have owned this baby for a few months now and all in can say is, why didnt it take the plunge earlier????
I cant really fault this trainer as such except to say, the putting together of this thing is a bit of a pain as there arent really any usable instructions.
When its together though, it runs smooth quiet and the on board computer is a real nice extra! Chain reaction are Hard to beat on price also!! |
