A unique and superbly detailed frame, designed to excel in the winter and perform as an all year round race frame. Updated for 2010 with crisp new graphics and 2 striking new dual colour paint finishes. We have also introduced a new sizes to suit Female and Junior riders.
The lightweight Racelight Tk2 winter training frame has all the proven details of the Racelight T2 but uses advanced, smooth welded, Kinesium tubing to make it one of the lightest and most responsive winter trainers available. Using the proven race inspired geometry of the Racelight T2, the Racelight Tk2 takes the winter training frame to a new level, and by using advanced Kinesium alloy, we have bought the weight of this frame down to 1.46kg for the 54cm size.
Both the ‘T2’ and ‘Tk2’ use longer headtubes for a more upright riding position and have rack mounts and ample clearance for full size ‘gaurds and larger winter tyres [long reach brakes required]. The top tube is ‘power bulged’ at the headtube for maximum stiffness and the oversize, thin-wall down tube is aero section at the top and ovalised where it meets the BB for maximum weld area and response. The ‘hourglass’ seatstays give maximum comfort for long training rides and the oversize chainstays and large downtube area at the BB keep power loss to a minimum.
This is an excellent quality frameset.
I have recently built a light & high quality winter/rainy weather racer, using this frame.
I try and cover as much milage in most weather conditions as i can, using this frame has made an excellently responsive & light bike -why should winter training bikes be low cost & fairly heavy if you are doing decent winter /rainy milage!
Same principal with most types of bikes, without stating the flipin' obvious -lighter & quality the better, the more enjoyment & will make you want to do the most milage you can.

It's a good frame. But two things spoil the party for me. The first is the relative short wheelbase you get with this frame due to the head angles. The second is the bridge in the seat stays - it is angled & therefore restricts the mudguard you can fit. For example, I run 25c 4seasons c/w 25mm SKS mudguards - & they do not fit! The mudguard fixing point is too low due to the silly angle of the bridge. It's okay but not that light.
i recently built up a winter trainer with this frame using ultegra gears and aksium wheels. i heard reports of it being comfortable over longer rides but it is not true anything over 20miles will leave you sore for days, but thats aluminium i guess. other than that its a good value allround road bike that can be used as several bikes in one. just remember to fit a comfortable saddle/seatpost and larger tyres (maybe 28mm).
