this bag rocks- i have been able to fit a p-pot, full face lid, shinnies, 3 litres of water, and college books [after-college riding]and a load of tools without hassle. i don't think i have ever needed the full capacity of the reservoir, but the fact that it has the capacity in the first place makes it amazing.
Recommend to anyone. Its comfy, strong and it will hold everything you need.
The Mayhem is wicked.
Really tough construction, and the helmet space/straps easily hold a full facer without it flapping about.
The bladder is easily fitted/removed, there's a camera pocket on top, and the zips are properly fat and tough too so they're not failing in a hurry. Untold storage too, without being to bulky when it's not full.
Chunky freeride bag of choice.
In a bad spill - (At least a 35 mph stack, followed by paramedics, morphine, ride in ambulance, visit to A&E and a broken collarbone) - I was very happy to see that even with this pack loaded with as much kit as I could get in it, all the damage had extended to a bit of dirt scuffing on the pack, despite sliding about 20 feet along on it. The bladder did not burst and the camera in the padded media pocket was fine. The pack stayed on through the whole thing, a credit to its stability!
I wouldn't hesitate in recommending this pack to anyone who like me, would easily get through two litres of water and would warrant carrying the extra litre. The padding on the back keeps it comfortable on long rides and raises the back of the pack enough to keep you and the water cool. Very good.
