when these brakes warm up a bit the are very very good, but wen there not warm, there not as good, which doesnt realy matter to be honest cos they heat up relativly quickly, they make an annoying sound when cold. they are extremly powerfull thow. overall i wouldent suggest you get these if you are a top dh racer, but for the buding racer, the freerider or even the xc enthusiast they do the job perfectly! :)
I bought these on ebay for £150 because they were the 03 model and ive never had better brakes nor have i ever used better brakes. you can pull rolling stoppies at 30mph and ive never had any problems. I hammer the front brakes pulling endos all of the time and the pads never seem to wear.
if you are doing downhill then for the cash you can get better brakes. not the best for dh race as they really overheat (they boil and get air in them on really long descents).
BUT they are good as a Free Ride brake (magura FR gives u a clue what they were meant for)too be honest im using mine for xc.
