We've had one of these for 3 years now; it's on child number two. My first daughter loved it. Sunday mornings we always went out riding as well as the occasional school run. It must pretty comfortable because she always fell asleep in it! The seat is quite large, though not heavy, and surrounds the child well we've never had an accident so I can't say how well it protects the child in the seat but surrounding the child well, with good securing straps and bar, arms, hands and fingers are well retained. My only criticism would be the Velcro feet straps, they’re fiddly to get done up and undone and don't really retain feet that well. I frequently used to catch my daughters feet as the paddle came back up (and we don't have big feet). Sliding on and off the rack is also a bit fiddly pushing the plastic clip down to slide the seat off usually involves catching my fingers between the seat and rack as the seat slides back, with heavier children. All in all, though, a great compromise between safety and weight. Also the free standing feature means that it keeps smaller kids occupied getting in and out of it when you get back from a ride, time enough for a well earned cup of tea!!
