The first time I used these I thought they were not working as I could not feel any heat. However as the ride progressed,everything else was getting colder and colder (including my fingers which were covered with lobster gloves normally OK just below freezing). My feet were exactly the same as when I left the house - neither cold nor hot, just right. It was about minus four and on an hour and a half ride I'm convinced they kept me warm when everything else would have failed. I was lucky to pick up a pair for £100 but I would pay the full price if I had to - best investment in clothing I've made for years. Roll on cold weather !!!
I have never written a rewiev before but I felt really compelled this time. These things don't work. First of all the heated area is only at the front so if you expect any heat at the heal area, forget it. On top of that the heat is only being distributed in the middle of the front part and it's so faint that I had to put the insoles on my face to feel if they are working at all. My left insole stopped working after the third ride so I sent them back and picked up thick socks instead. Do yourself a favour and when the winter gets really crappy get a week-long trip to Malorca, which from the UK will probably cost you the same money, and do some biking there.
