Very similar to the lezyne pumps yet a bit smaller and lighter. I decided to buy this as my previous crank brothers power pump pro turned out to be a real pain/disapointment. The problem with the CB was it did not get a good seal in the valve and for as hards as I tried it would not go above 20/25psi.
The Topeak Race Rocket on the other hand was a real joy to use and surprisingly effective for its size , more so if compared to the Crank Brothers as they are similar in size. The stow away hose is great: allows perfect seal and reduces the risk of damaging a valve.
Unlike the Lezyne models the extendible hose is ready to use straight out of the hidden compartiment, no need to attach to the pump. It easy converts between shraeder and presta by unscrewing a bit the tip.
Last weekend I was swapping the tyres from my 3 bikes and I changed all 6 tyres with the Topeak Race Rocket with much less effort and sweat that you would expect with a mini pump. I tried it on both presta and shraeder valves and it works great in both.
The strokes are smooth and easy even at high pressure. Be carefull with how you place your hands on the metal grip as it's easy to get a finger caught in the stroke and it's quite painfull (hopefully you'll remember after the first incident). It also comes with a bike mount and a a clever rubber lock to keep it in place for those rough downhill rides!
Not sure about reaching the announced 140psi but I can say that I was able to get my tyres to high enough pressure so they would pop and seat even in the bead (this was no easy task on a couple of bontrager tyres). So far very pleased!!
Have it for over 8 months and still as reliable as when bought. The best pump I've ever tried
Water gathers under the rubber handle if you have it mounted to your frame.
One of my inner tubes high pressure valves got stuck on the end and I had to rip the pump off resulting in the valve getting stuck in the end. I can't say I'm impressed.
