I've had mine for almost a year and they are now one of my fave bits of kit. The current versions are a much better shape than they were a couple of years ago and they are comfy in all but the warmest or coldest conditions. The other guy is right about water ingress from the top but your feet stay warm so it doesn't matter. Sealskinz do a long version for really wet conditions - what about it Chain Reaction?

Just great, really are waterproof, make any old shoe wearable in the wet - only get wet feet when they're "overtopped" (but SealSkinz do a version with a seal at the top). If it's cold weather I've found it's best to use a CoolMax liner sock with them, as they're not particularly good for keeping toasty toes.

Best thing since ever! Cosy, toasy, and dry tootsies, awesome piece of kit and well worth the investment. I wear some normal socks underneath for a tad extra warmth in the winter - wont bother in the Summer. Will never ride without them again.

these are excellent. once you buy them you will never go back to normal socks. they really do work, very well. ok, so they're a liitle expensive as socks go but they are worth it for warm dry feet!

Excellent socks !! Yes, they don't have a completely snug fit, like regular socks, but that's down to the waterproof membrane. this doesn't effect their comfort or function. They keep your feet toasty and dry, and if you've got decent leggings, over the top of the socks, then you shouldn't suffer from water running down the top. (I've never suffered from this anyway). Don't buy the sealskinz gloves though, they're next to useless ! The Porelle membrane seems to work brilliantly as a sock, but poorly as a glove, I guess this is down to the amount of flexing a glove does.

Believe me these socks do what thay say on the tin, Ive recommended them to off road friends & a couple that work outdoors, & we are all 100% chuffed with them, but have a treat, get some yourself and you can have "warm, dry, feet"

Very good, kept my feet nice and dry on a recent trip to Dartmoor. My toes were a bit cold so they could do with the thermal liner on colder days or otherwise buy the mid thermal but very impressed none the less.

I have had a pair for 12 months and they work extremely well keeping feet warm and dry under nearly all conditions. When MTBing in atrocious weather or through streams/deep splash pools some water will, inevitably, get in via the top even so your feet get wet not frozen and painful which is precisely what happened when I did Penmachno without them in Nov 2007 hence why I bought them and problem solved. Mid light >>> warmer than ultra light.

Perfect for winter running in wet and deep snow conditions. My feet started to get cold once I had stopped running at the weekend. It was -3°C so I would recommend wearing the thermal socks in this temperature if it is very wet.

very very good indeed, I wont ever bike in anything else!! theres nothing quite like the felling of going through a river with warm feet, i dont mean walk though (riding through it). Never ever have i had cold feet with these. actually these arent just good for biking i where them walking aswell because they are brilliant, comforftable. just amazing. was in the lakes last easter when it snowed and they were good then. i think i finished, u probably get the message now. i could carry on though. I've just come back from a day's hard riding. It was snowy, windy, a wee bit of rain, and some sleet for good measure. My feet stayed completely dry throughout, and relatively warm. Mid-lights are perhaps not best suited for snowy conditions, but any time the rest of you gets wet, your feet sure as heck don't. I was firing through puddles with my legs getting absolutely drenched, but my feet remained perfectly fine. When I got home, I pulled my shoes out of my bag and was surprised how soaked they were - given how dry my feet were I expected the same of my shoes. I think next time I'll get a set of liners if it's going to be that cold, that's my only gripe.

Wore these on a 3 hour ride yesterday and they worked like a dream. Even power-washing my shoes afterwards (while still wearing them) failed to let water in. Warm enough for me, but it was about 4-5 degrees C

I've had mine for over 4 years now and they are still my fave piece of cycle clothing! One of the best feelings is going through a cold wet puddle, your foot goes colder but stays dry! ahhhhh... :-) Even on a dry commute, these keep your feet very warm - no need for overshoes out on the road with these on at sub-zero temps. Going to buy some more soon as they are finally wearing a bit thin, although still in perfect working order!

At first sight they feel a bit "plasticky" but once on you dont even notice. All the rest of the guys in my road group were complaining about cold feet, but mine have never been warmer and drier. For warm feet, I would be prepared to pay double the money - these are incredible. Anybody that rides a bike in winter be it a road cycle or MTB simply HAS to get some of these. Only after wet shoes and cold feet does one appreciate them

I bought this item as part of my kitlist for my recent LEJOG (Lands End - John O' Groats) cycle trip. What an absolute lifesaver they turned out to be! From crossing the damp roads along the scottish highlands to keeping me warm in the heart of devon these socks are a must for any cyclist. The only slight nag is that water inevitably finds its way down the top of the sock after a few hours on torrential rain, but this is surely to be expected. Add a pair of these to your collection!

Theses socks are freakishly good. When you cycle through a deep puddle, you see your feet get wet; you feel your feet get slightly cold, your brain receives these signals and convinces you that your feet must be wet! WRONG!! The first time I wore these socks I convinced myself that mine were faulty and I got off my bike, took off my shoes and socks only to discover that my feet were bone dry – bonkers!! Enough has been said before about these socks – believe the hype and part with £20, you will not be disappointed.

Poor circulation from cold wet feet are our worst enemey, in our winters sealskinz are defenetly a worthwhile investment, (unless you preffer multiple layers of plastic bags an extra socks), mine always get wet on outside from wet shoes etc. sometimes wet trickles in from tops on hard rides, but generally my feet always remain dry , sometimes a little chilled from wet etc. warm woollen liners certaily help. unless you have heated socks that is.

Great for keeping you dry when riding through puddles, fords etc. Feet initialy feel damp, but that's just the temperature change from the cold water and you soon warm up again because your feet are actually still dry! Have had wet feet though after prolonged riding in very wet/rainy conditions. This must be due to seepage down from the top as the socks do not leaking when I wash them out and fill them with water! When conditions are very wet the sock actually ponds the water and acts a bit like a wet suit so isn't too uncomfortable anyway.

only 4* because I have not used them in really wet weather yet but so far they have been excellent. Very warm and comfortable for cycling. Not certain how they would perform for walking long distances though. As a means of upgrading my 2 season shoes to 3 season and keeping my feet warm on these colder mornings they have been ideal. I also Use them as 'slippers' when cycle camping!

In extreme wet weather ( I almost drowned! ) my feet have got wet & I'm sure it didn't seep down from the top.But in normal wet weather they seem fine.I also use mine for walking & I'm glad I've got a pair.Probaly the best on the market.

I'm very disappointed with these socks. They have worked pretty good for the first week, which was less than a year ago, but now I'm thinking that maybe it just wasn't raining hard enough. They soak water in, much slower than normal cotton socks, but quickly enough to make your feet wet in under half an hour. And at 20 quid per pair it's a shame. I will try out a waterproof overshoe, and will let you know.
