| Great set of shifters. Precise shifting, better than my XT's. I use it in combination with the X-9 rear mech, SUPER!!! Looks great too. Choose any discbrake you want instead of only Shimano. |

i've had these shifters for a few months now. have had absolutely no problems with them. i have both the LH and the RH shifters and a X-9 rear mech. i heard that previous models had a lot of plastic in them than got worn away with time but that doesn't seem to be the case with these cos they are working as well as the day i got them. shifting is effortless and can be done with only the thumb. you can shift down 5 gears in one push although the last gear is some times a strecth. the unit feels very solid and not filmsy at all and the display is cool and well designed. all in all i'm quite happy. |

| The best shifters I have ever used. I used with an X9 mech. You can feel the click on your thumn and you *know* that the gear has changed. Always precise. Excellent piece of kit. |

| Compared to the Shimano XT gearing, the X.9 system blows it out the water. The thumb shifting feels way better than thumb and index shifting because you can always be covering your brake. The dial hasn’t broken yet which by this time both of my XT ones had. The dial is also much tidier and easy to see. When this is used with an X.9 mech the shifting is perfectly spot on, unbelievably light and very reliable.
Get one, you wont regret it. |

| Im never going back to shimano again. These just feel so much better to use, paired with my x9 rear mech i have better than xtr shifting for cheaper! All i need now are some avid juicy seven carbons to match them! |

| Good and precise shifting. Come to change the cables, and you can't get the cable cover screw off. It's such soft plastic, the cross-cuts for the screwdriver head just tear off. So now I have to buy new shifters just 'cos this stupid screw won't come out. |

| I bought the pair and the rear shifter never got out of my livingroom - they just wouldn't work and the index was jammed. Bought the 2007 rear shifter and am very happy with it - it also doesn't have the silly numbered index which is really unneccessary. A good piece of kit - but bad product check before it leaves the factory. |

| Sorry, i'll have to disagree with all these comments, i was wowed by the fancy looks and sleek design, biggest regret ever shelling out for these and a mech. Unless you ride with a vice-like grip and not loose and flowing you'll have countless accidental gear changes. Sorry guys it's sure and sharp SHIMANO all the way for me !! |

| I'm about to get a new rig with these fitted as standard after trying one out in Morzine. The shifting is good, very smooth, and they look well built but these shifters are the only negative of the bike for me.
The chances of knocking them unexpectedly are very high if you have them set up close to your grips and brake levers (like 90% of riders). It's seriously distracting and very frustrating.
If your prepared to work on your set up and riding style a bit they're great, otherwise the shimano shifters are more sure footed. |

| Bought these unboxed 2006 shifters. Indexing didn't work. Despite fiddling with everything. Then bought the new models and they work fine and look better, and lets face it that is the only reason to buy SRAM, overall little difference with XT. |
