| I've been servicing bikes for only a few years but I wish I'd got one of these at the start. It's very stable and the clamps work very well.
There is a groove running down both rubberised jaws so you can clamp tubing without squashing brake/gear cables. The jaws close rapidly by winding them together with a small handle. You can just make out what the handle looks like from the very top of the picture - a little L shaped winder attached to the main screw.
At the back of the clamp arm there is a quick release lever to control the orientation of the frame (pointing up or down). Again, this is very easy to use and the bike can be adjusted whilst in the frame.
The height can really only be set before the bike is mounted. You slide the top section up or down and tighten up two allen bolts on a collar. The collar can be seen in the middle of the uprights. It's pretty easy to find the height you're comfortable with then leave it forever.
The two long feet at the bottom are hinged and lock by gravity (and the weight of your bike) into position. Very stable. If you were to lift the stand then the feet would fold down and hang underneath on their hinges. By loosening a single allen bolt (or leave it loose) you can twist then slide the feet section up alongside the lower upright. The two feet and the upright are thus folded together for easier storage. You can't really make out where this allen bolt is in the picture - it's in a collar that joins the feet to the uprights.
The whole stand has a quality feel about it - typical of Park Tools. Perhaps the only thing missing is an integral tool tray - I'm gonna make myself one.
I don't have anything to compare this with as I've never had a workstand before, but it's fabulous. If you spend any amount of time looking after you bike then get this - you won't be sorry. Even oiling the chain (properly) is so much easier.
Oh, and it's a great way of displaying your much-loved steed |

| For £65 compared to the price of other workstands i wondered what i might be getting. The photo on the CRC site does not do it justice though, it's a quality piece of kit which holds your bike very securly. I havn't owned mine very long but it certainly gives the impression that it will give years of service. As the previous reviewer said its certainly not light weight or flimsy! Wish i'd bought one years ago. Highly recommended. |

| Very sturdy. Well worth the price. You have to tighten the height adjustment well though, just 2 4mm allen bolts. Beats the hell out of fixing your ride on the floor or turned upside down! Go on, treat yourself, you know it makes sense! |

| What a great cheap fine quality stand! Finally one that is stirdy and can hold a variety of bikes, nice thick tubing can hold anything. I agree the image doesn't do any justice if your looking to buy it, go to the parktools wedsite and copy and paste the bike stand name in to the search engine and it has a picture of it being used, however if your wondering wether to invest in one then this is the one for you! Great stand! |

| Unlike the other reviews I would say that this stand is only fairly stable and the rotation of the clamping head is difficult to move after it's been tight for a while. However, for the money it's amazing value compared to the competition and does the job very well indeed - if you're a home mechanic there's no need to spend any more than this as it does everything you need and more - get one! |

| The stand is a lot more robust and sturdy than it looks in the picture. It keeps the bike held firm and at the right height to make cleaning, tuning and repairing the bike easier. It is nice weight, heavy enough to be secure with a bike clamped in it and light enough pack it away after use. It is also easy to use. |

| This is a great piece of kit. The quality is superb and it is easy to assemble. The clamp works well on a wide range of frames and bikes are held secure and stable on the tripod stand. It also enables the bike to be held at any angle simplifying any maintenance or cleaning tasks. The stand takes a few minutes to assemble and dis-assemble so is most suited to life in the garage. However, assembly process could be easily speeded up if you swap allen bolts with QR bolts. Briliant value for money as it will last forever and save that aching back. |

| This is the first stand I've owned. It's well worth the money and, unless your livelihood depended on it, I'm not sure why you'd want to spend more. It's a quality sturdy item, very stable and deals with very large tubes with cables no problem. 100% recommended. |

| This thing is great,my 44lb DH bike bounces around a bit when ive awkwardly heaved it up into jaws and start cranking the pedals but there is just such good quality to it that you know it's not going to snap or topple over. the jaws can be a pain in the xss if you need to adjust them but once set up it's fine. the pics don't do this stand justice. great product. |

| I bought this because it was Park Tool (good reputation) and it was cheap. I wasn't expecting to get something so strong and well made. You'll never need to buy a bike stand again once you have this. It doesn't fold away that well as the legs fold down but it is great value for money and I can't understand why I didn't get one years ago - makes working on your bike so much easier. |

| I have worked in cycle shops for many years now, and got sick and tired of taking my bikes to work every time I needed somthing fixed...so I decided to buy a home stand and went for the Park Tool, Home Mechanic PCS9 Repair Stand. It has been utterly faultless in the year I have had it and has never let me down. It does lack the all out bombproof construction of the dedicated shop stands at work, however for home use it is perfect. The ease of the folding construction also makes it ideal for racers. Highly recommended. |

| I bought the Park stand after having tinkered with bikes most of my life. How I ever did without it I am not sure. The basic stand is fine for the average guy at home. Professionals might want more (at more cost). My stand is quick to assemble and gives a feeling of quality. Adjusting the bike position is as easy as 1,2,3.
If you like to do some home repairs and maintenance, make the investment. I can't really comment on other stands, but this Park prduct is quality. |

| I bought this stand after being fed up turning my bike upside down to do any fixing on it. When i got it i was surprised how heavy it was. good quality stand and can easily hold a heavy downhill bike. the stand becomes much more stable once you have you bike on it. well worth the money, and i must admit it does look a lot better in real life than in the pictures! | Before buying this stand, I was using a cheaper one from Decathlon.
Well, the PCS9 is so much better! No more knees or back hurting, the bike is kept at the right high from the ground and the clamp is very solid. The clam is adjustable, so you can avoid scratches on the frame. The clamp is capable to bring tubes and seat post, so you can put the bike as you want.
After the use, it is easily to fold and store away.
The most useful item I've bought these last 3 years! |

| Great bit of engineering this. So simple, yet so sturdy and folds away quickly and small enough to store in a corner of the garage. All parts look like great quality (what else from Park). I have worked on bikes as a novice and consider it part of my enjoyment of the sport. Should have invested in one of these a long time ago as it just makes life so much easier. Just one small criticism. When it is folded away, there is nothing holding the footpiece bracket in place when it is slid up the upright tube and you need to remember to hold the assembly when deploying the stand, otherwise it can slip downwards and deploy before you are ready. Very minor gripe though and in no way takes away from the overall satisfaction of the product. |

| After years of standing my bike against a wall or using a rope over the door to hold it up while the wheels were off I finally went for a work stand. It's worth every penny, and this one is great. I'm sure there are better ones but as long as my bike is at a comfy working height and I can turn the peddles and pull the brakes and change the gears I don't care. From the pictures it looks like three twigs stuck together, but in real life the tubes are the size of Alberto Contadors thighs.
Also to get more value for money from it, you can clamp a tray in the jaws, put some drinks, grapes, tissues on it, stick it next to your bed and pretend you're in hospital. Fantastic |

| Great product and makes servicing my and family's bikes a lot more fun. Should have bought years ago. But I was expecting something more. Chinese should be able to copy this for 1/3 the price, unfortunately.
This is actually a common problem with Park Tool products, I have plenty of those and still think they are the best. The products are great, will last forever, but somehow never feel special. They feel bit agrarian, especially in the economy range. |

| A previous reviewer states the stand is 7 feet long when folded. This is wrong, the base with the legs attaches can be slide up the main tub so it is about 4 feet long folded. It is still very bulky but is fine as long as you don’t want to travel with it. Out of the box mine has two faults. Firstly the long threaded bar that hold the clamp on is too long so the friction lock won’t screw on enough to lock, this just needs a few mm cut off. Secondly there is a sprung pin that locks the legs in the down position. This should go through a plastic sleeve and the metal. The two holes don’t line up so it won’t lock. Again this is easy enough to fix by trimming the plastic. |

| I bought this because I required a folding stand and heard Park Tools stuff is good. I was surprised at how heavy and robust the stand tubing is. The stand holds the bike well enough and is stable with the bike on it. The only thing I'd like improving is to have some fastener for the legs when folded otherwise they just flop around. It would also be good if different jaw profiles were available so I can clamp my top tube. It's impossible with the current jaw as I have a hydraulic brake hose and two cables running down the top tube which would get pinched by the jaws.
Otherwise this is a great stand for the casual home mechanic. |

| I bought this stand after many years of repairing and maintaining bikes on the floor.
It was easily assembled and holds the bike very well. I would agree with other reviewers that the height adjuster bolts are a bit small and could be better designed but overall it is a very useful tool for £65.
It does fold up but the legs fold down rather than up which makes the folded stand at least 7ft long and tricky to store. Also the rotation adjustment on the clamp is a bit stiff unless you use a little all-purpose grease where the cones press into the tube.
Overall though, i'm impressed with it and i'd recommend you buy one too if you do a lot of work on your bikes. |
