The 661 range of Mountain bike Full Face Helmets featuring the Comp Shifted Helmet

SixSIxOne is pushing product development to the limits to build a range that exceeds the standards within the motocross and mountain bike industries. Their designers incorporate the newest technology to provide quality products that excel in comfort and protection.

Technologies for the 661 MTB Comp Shifted Helmet:

  • Neck Brace Compatible: Certain technologies work better if the supporting products are designed to work in conjunction with each other. Neck braces are one of those technologies that need products design specifically to work with other safety equipment. Certain helmets, chest protectors, and roost deflectors are designed to work in conjunction with a neck brace to maximize comfort, fit, and motion.
  • Full helmet Venting System: The Full Helmet Venting System, or FHVS, is a system designed to give maximum airflow by linking channels and vents to create a vortex of airflow pushing warm air out of the helmet allowing cooler air to keep you cool.
  • Panorama Eye Port: The Panorama full view eye port is designed to give maximum peripheral vision and allow any goggles to fit without interference.

MTB Helmet specifications:

  • Polycarbonate shell
  • Interior channeling to aid ventilation
  • 12 exterior ports
  • Suitable for: BMX and DH

This helmet conforms to, or exceeds EU Standards only.

The 661 range of Helmets is available from Chain Reaction Cycles, the online bicycle store for the amateur to the professional cyclists.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Buen casco y ligero Se puede decir que es un buen casco despues de dos caidas con el no le a pasado nada a mi me a salvado de estar sin cara es muy comodo y tiene buena visibilidad 12 March 2014
Rated 4 out of 5 by Great helmet - for the price I can not tell how this helmet holds up in a hard crash, since I have not crashed hard with it yet. The inside is not washable, you can't release it and put the soft stuff in the washing machine. So if you are looking for a long lasting helmet which smells like parfyme I would try another one. :) But the fit and feel is great for the money. Nice with "simple" black and white design. But as usual you get what you pay for, there is always a reason why one product cost 60€ and another one cost 200€. 28 February 2014
Rated 4 out of 5 by Ottima qualità.
26 February 2014
Rated 4 out of 5 by bought as first helmet for budding BMXer smallest size is a good fit for an average 5 year old!! its lighter than you would expect and probably more suited to a slightly older child, but there is very little on the market that offer the samwe quality we've come to expect from 661. great features and a great look, solid build and definately worth recommendation. i have a slightly older version of the same lid which has served well for a few years. 25 February 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Good quality, looks great Really happy worth the quality for the price for this full face helmet. Fits really well 23 February 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by 661 Comp Shifted 2013 indossato sembra di non averlo, rapporto prezzo/qualità OTTIMO 05 February 2014
Rated 4 out of 5 by Decent weight, great looking helmet A good helmet with a pretty decent weight and an excellent finish. Only concern is the poor air ventilation as this plays a huge role when you are living in a tropical country with hot and humid weather. Changing to the 661 Recon Wired Helmet instead. 04 February 2014

Answer:
mmm... you would definately need to get xs, i think the xs would be a bit to small for the 3.5 year old, and xs may just fit the 6 year old, (try looking out for a youth helmet, they would have better sizing options)

Answer:
661 sizing suggests Medium for 57-58, and Large for 59-60cm. If you find yourself on the cusp between two sizes I would suggest you opt for the larger option.

I have a very small head and a "youth" size helmet but it's slightly on the tight side. Is it good to have it really tight so it doesn't rattle around while riding and will it compress after a few uses making it a perfect fit?

Answer:
A helmet should be a tight fit; but not uncomfortably tight. Due to the nature of a helmet being designed to last for a long time; it is unlikely that the padding will compress.

The MTB and Road cycling helmets we sell comply with British Standard BS EN 1078:1997 this is the British and European standard.
It covers helmet construction including field of vision, shock absorbing properties, retention system properties including chin strap and fastening devices, as well as marking and information.

This is not AS/NZS 2063, so it is not technically legal to use in Australia.
