The New 661 range of Mountain bike body armour protection featuring the Core Saver
SixSIxOne is pushing product development to the limits to build a range that exceeds the standards within the motocross and mountain bike industries. Their designers incorporate the newest technology to provide quality products that excel in comfort and protection.
Key technologies for the 661 Core Saver body armour:
Power stretch fabric: Our Power Stretch fabric is a specific polyester blend that helps wick away moisture, and cool the rider with its evaporative properties. The material performs better than traditional pressure suit materials because of its moisture management capabilities.
Side zip panel: Side zip paneling allows the chest piece of a pressure suit to be one piece. That one piece has the ability to do a better job of protecting the vital zone of the chest including the sternum.
Body armour specifications:
Breathable and moisture wicking main chassis
Compression-molded EVA shoulder panels
ABS roost deflector
Articulated spine guard
The 661 range of body armour protection is now available from Chain Reaction Cycles, the online bicycle store for the amateur to the professional cyclists.
Rated 5 out of 5 Great product super comfortable
Great product! Can't believe how comfortable and cool it is! I'm not a fan on protective equipment as it usually just feels bulky and restrictive but the core saver is amazing, even on my first ride I completely forgot it was there! I live in Australia and have been using it for a few months now and even through the middle of summer I didn't find it made me feel any hotter at all, even on downhill shuttle runs I left it on the hole time. I don't wear protective stuff on xc rides but its so light and breathes so well you could. Super strong back protection aswell which is a big plus as it's something I've always been worried about.

Rated 4 out of 5 by Jonathon Entry level protection
Decent level of protection for the money, it's saved me on one or two occasions where I've managed to find my way into trees on my local downhill track. Does feel a little heavy and a little restrictive but they may down to the spine guard so I won't put that as a con.

Rated 4 out of 5 by DH21 Does the job
I bought this as I was looking for something light weight but could still provide me with protection. I recently came off my bike and landed on my chest on a tree stump. Small in diameter , but sticking out the ground a good bit. The tree stump hit the chest plate in the centre, which did hurt and I was winded but carried on after a min or two. It wasn't until later when the pain set in and got it checked out, I'd fractured a rib. Yes I was injured wearing this but I dread to think what would of happen if I was not ! I don't think there is many body armour out there that would of prevent this due to the force that I hit it at.

Rated 5 out of 5 by anger Very nice indeed
As I was looking for some kind of protection without getting full body armor, 661's Core Saver was perfect choice. At the back you have full spine protection, it's lightweight and very comfortable, will be using it when skiing as well as for DH biking.
I'm tall and skinny (194cm/70kg) and S/M fits perfectly.
