These are my first pair of SPDs so not a lot to compare against. however a few little points to bring up.
laces look like they are about to rip out the eyelets, only saviour being the Velcro strap which negates the need to tighten them massively.
other point is the SPD mount doesnt seem to slide far enough back. I use these on my DH bike and I like to have my foot firmly in the middle of the pedal. These shoes tend to hold you in the prime "power position, which would be great if i were on a x-country rig, but i'm not. I had to stanley Knife out a large chunk behind the designated area so that I could slide the cleat all the way back, but still it doesnt seem to be quite far enough back. other than this though, very happy so far. - oh and grippy as hell even without clipping in!

Had 5 pairs of the white now. Good for being a messenger.
Have had many friends purchase the black and complain about them falling apart.
Bit of a shame as i'd love some plain black spd shoes to wear out on the town occasionally.
LOVE THE WHITE.

I use these for flats. I've had them for 2 years and they are superb. Grippy and supportive. I power was them after a muddy ride and they are as good as new. The strap to cover the laces is a bonus. If only they were water proof they'd be perfect.

I picked up a pair of these a week ago and they have barely been off my feet since. Extremely comfortable, feel very sturdy, hold your foot in position securely and inspire confidence. Grip well on platforms, but also have a solid feel when clipped in. You can remove the velcro for going out on the town, or, better still, burn your skinnies and let your baggy jeans cover them! I love these shoes!

Rated 3 out of 5 by Anonymous Comfy but watch the lace holes
Really comfy SPD that look great on or off the bike. Also there's enough padding/flex to allow to walk normally when off the bike. Due to the bulky sole access in and out of shimano pedals are difficult, so a little modification with a pen knife (to widen the cleat sorround was required). After about the 5th time wearing them, whilst doing the laces up, the lace itself ripped through the side of the hole runner. It seems that it had been punched too close to the edge of the suede. Hopefully this is a one off and that my reurn pair does not do the same. Otherwise a cracking shoe.

When i first got these shoe's I was like wow there awesome and they was really grippy, but after a few months, the clip in covers on the bottom of the shoe, just ripped off when i was riding and then went downhill from there, once they had ripped off loads of dirt kept on getting gin the bottom of my shoes and then the shoes misshaped in the end I had to throw them away so if your going to buy them just be aware there not that good for flat pedals ....

Rated 5 out of 5 by Anonymous Great Grip!!!
I love these shoes, bought them last February (2010) and worn them on every ride since. They are super grippy on my DMR V8's and provide great protection.
I recently tore the material on the toe section of mine whilst at Afan and am tempted to super-glue fix or treat myself to another pair in white.
Fot £60 you can't go wrong.
