661 Sub Gear Short Sleeve Shirt

SixSIxOne is pushing product development to the limits to build the new Sub Gear S/S Shirt Body protection that exceed the standards within the Mountain bike industries. Our designers incorporate the newest technology to provide quality products that excel in comfort and protection.

Key technologies for the 661 Sub Gear Short Sleeve Shirt:

  • Power stretch fabric: Our Power Stretch fabric is a specific polyester blend that helps wick away moisture, and cool the rider with its evaporative properties. The material performs better than traditional pressure suit materials because of its moisture management capabilities.
  • High Impact Memory Foam: A special impact material that has a stiff initial impact that slowly conforms to the shape of the body, which gives the protective piece a way to eliminate the heavier, air restricting hard caps that have traditionally been used in pressure suits.

Body armour specifications:

  • Compression fit, breathable fabric construction improves blood flow and boosts muscle recovery
  • Flat locked seams reduce chafing
  • EVA chest and “Intella-Foam” shoulder panels

The 661 range of body armour protection is available from Chain Reaction Cycles, the online bicycle store for the amateur to the professional cyclists.

Rated 4.2 out of 5 by 24 reviewers.
Rated 4 out of 5 by Subtle extra protection for those days you don't want to wear the full Dainese gimp suit... Bought one of these for a very good price from CRC. Wore it at BPW during a sleety wintry day. Kept me nice and warm and warded off clipping a tree with a shoulder. Well fitted, comfy to wear and you wouldn't know you had it on after about 5 minutes. Quality wise though some of the stitching does look a little flimsy, time will tell how long it does last... However the washing instructions are a bit bizzare, it says you can't even use and detergent on it let alone put it anywhere near a washing machine. After a few summer rides this thing is going to hum if you can't wash it. I suspect using a delicate detergent with a hand wash will probably be ok though. 08 July 2014
Rated 3 out of 5 by Protezione base, discreta qualità.
Rated 5 out of 5 by Gives you more confidence I wear this every time I ride, it gives me more confidence and I commit more improving my riding. There's a nice amount of padding in the shoulders and the chest. It does get a bit warm on hot summer days. 20 June 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by fantástica no molesta, se puede utilizar en todo momento, protege lo gusto 20 May 2014
Rated 4 out of 5 by Buon compromesso qualità prezzo Molto pratico soprattutto per chi ha solo paraschiena e vuole girare in tshirt 07 April 2014
Rated 4 out of 5 by Good protection and comfort I use on riding AM and BMX. I feel comfort and cool even on sunny day. Protection is good. When I riding my BMX and jump, I failed and my shoulder hit the ground. Luckily the armor protected me and won't hurt. 26 February 2014
Rated 3 out of 5 by Who needs only shoulder protection? I'm not sure why I bought this. I was ordering the long-sleeved one and went for this too thinking i'd use it on hot days. But the short sleeve version only leaves you with shoulder protection. Not something i'd really need. Elbows would come first. Also neither have any back protection. Though maybe that would just have been very restrictive. ALSO the fit is very tight. I'd recommend adding an inch to your measurements and then going by the size guide 09 February 2014
Rated 2 out of 5 by Compression suit I was looking for some light padding to wear under a t-shirt for trail centre use. I thought this was ideal, looked good, good price. Unfortunately this is more like a compression top. The material doesn't breathe and there's no ventilation. I can't imagine how uncomfortable this would be in the summer. 22 January 2014

Answer:
I'm not sure to be really honest, but the protection that might is located over the point of the shoulder - if you put your hand on the point of your shoulder, fingers facing your head and with the palm on the point of the shoulder, your hand is the space that will be covered by the pad. Hope that helps!
