I am biulding a 99 schwinn homegrown and in the stage of buying the crankset and BB from you at CRC.
I am looing at either the xt triple 10spd which would need a bb, or the xtr triple 10spd which miight not.

the shell width is 68 mm
the spindle length is 113mm,

will either setup work?

I would like to put the xtr front deraillieur on it as well, I belive I need a conventional set whick you have as well.

Answer:
Any Shimano Hollowtech II road bottom bracket will suit. BB6800 (Ultegra) and BB9000 (Dura-Ace) are dimensionally identical, but have better bearings & seals.

I have a 2007 B-Twin Decathlon carbon framed road bike fitted with a Truvativ Roleur GXP GigaXpipe 170mm crankset.
The bottom bracket has markings: BSA 35-05 with 16 indentations/grooves and the distance between the inner faces of the external cups is approximately 68mm.

How do I determine which bottom brackets could replace the existing one, that would be compatible with the crankset I am currently running

What is the determining factor that would help identify which bottom brackets within your range would be compatible? Is there a measurement I need to make?

Are Shimano, Sram, FSA etc bottom brackets all interchangeable?
Are Shimano, Sram, FSA etc cranksets compatible with the suggested replacement bottom bracket?

If I were considering replacing the Crankset at the same time, what would determine the Cranksets + Bottom Bracket combinations I should be considering (could I swith to Shimano bottom bracket with Shimano crankset etc.)?

Answer:
There are two compatibility aspects to consider here, frame type and bottom bracket/crank interface. First, BSA and the 68mm measurement identify your rame as having an English thread bottom bracket - until the advent of press-fit types this was found on about 95% of bikes built. All component manufacturers have models that suit this standard.

Moving to the second aspect.... Your Truvativ/SRAM crank is running on a SRAM GXP bottom bracket. Although broadly similar to Shimano Hollowtech II and FSA Mega-Exo, GXP cranks use a stepped spindle, from 24mm to 22mm at the left end. You can only use another GXP bottom bracket with your existing crank. Shimano and FSA cranks & bottom brackets are theoretically interchangeable due to both using a 24mm straight spindle, but differences in manufacturing tolerances suggest that you're best keeping the crank & bottom bracket from the same manufacturer.

The ideal upgrade that we can offer is listed below and for use with a Shimano crankset (24mm Spindle) the 24mm option would be required.

Answer:
The FSA BB8200 BB you have ordered is for BB386 Evo Cranksets which have 30mm spindles. You need the older version of the BB8200 which was designed for standard 24mm Mega Exo cranksets.

We no longer stock the BB you are looking for and we don't have a bearing kit. You could however go for the FSA BB8681 which was designed to be used with the SLk-K Light chainset but it will work fine with the K-Force Light.

Answer:
92mm frames & 30mm spindles are different standards - there are no cranks or bottom brackets that comply with both of thse measurements; 92mm frames are for Shimano-type 24mm spindles, while 30mm spindles are designed for a 68mm wide frame.
