Rated 3 out of 5 by Comfortable bib, beware edge of pad Having worn Assos bib shorts for years I expected this years offering to be as good as before - unfortunately not. The bib is as good as always but the new honeycomb pad causes cutting to the skin at the poorly stitched edges. Suddenly the prices are not worth it. 31 August 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by Expensive but worth it ... I have 2 pair of these that I bought in June of 2011 and between them they have over 20,000 km of riding on them, mostly road, but some cyclocross and mountain bike as well. All day comfortable, excellent pad, and they have worn very well. No special care, toss them in the washer and hang dry. After 2 years and 20,000 km both pair have some wear in the crotch from rubbing against the seat and one pair have developed a small hole. I'm in contact with Assoss for options on repair or replacement as other than that they have got at least another 20k km in them. Expensive product but performance, fit, comfort, durability, all in, I will continue to buy them. Best shorts I've ever had. 04 May 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by Wash after wear!! The very best in shorts on the market. But be very carefull, the lycra is sensitive to acid in sweat, which can shorten their life dramatically. It is advised to at least give them a good rinse with warm water, shorty after each use. When machine washing, do not use fabric softner!! If you take care of your shorts, they will outlast any other and be the best investment for your cycling. 09 February 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by First rate comfort I have recently ridden from John O'Groats to Lands End (960 miles) and bought 2 pairs of these shorts to see if they could possibly live up to the price tag. They have an incredible pad and were extremely comfortable throughout, no soreness, numbness, chafing or rubbing of any kind. They also came with a net bag to put them in for the washing machine and some Assos detergent which cleaned the pad up extremely well, even when handwashing. These shorts are a revelation and when they wear out I will replace them with more of the same. I wholeheartedly recommend these shorts to anyone looking for decent clothing that does exactly what it should so that you can get on with enjoying many happy miles in the saddle. Outstanding. 04 September 2012
Rated 1 out of 5 by embarassing shorts Bought for Audax rides they felt comfortable to use, though not sure if they were worth 3 times as much as my regular ones? After many miles all 3 pairs I bought , ( the event had kit drops for changing!) wore thin at the point right above the chamois pad, which means those behind see everything! Shorts now unusable in summer! 17 August 2012
Rated 4 out of 5 by Fit is big I love these bib shorts. My only reason for not giving them a 5 star is because the sizing chart is a bit off. I am 180cm and I got a Large. It is big and a medium would have done me better. 03 January 2012
