I bought a replacement rotor when I set-up a spare rear wheel for road / XC riding.
The Avid rotors have served me well, despite being 110kg and riding down some pretty steep and long gravity descents none of my rotors (front 180mm and 2x rear 160mm) have buckled nor shown any serious signs of stress.
During those descents I suffered some pretty significant brake fade but I'm not wise enough to know if this was the rotors, DH pads or just the Elixir 5 brakes themselves being put under too much stress for too long. That being said it didn't take long for them to cool down and brake strength to return.
Very inexpensive to replace - but I haven't had to replace one due to wear, I bought it for a spare wheel set-up.

Quiet, light and cheap. I bought the 140mm version for the rear of my XC bike and I'll probably repalce my front rotor with one of these when the time comes.

Top Rotor overall, very light weight compared to other rotors in it's price range (Lighter than the cheaper Shimano rotors etc) the design helps it the rotor to stay cooler (wavey) and also shed muck off allot better. It has good overall modulation and stopping power (With 180 and 200mm)

Rated 5 out of 5 by Anonymous Light and stable
It's one of the lightest around, Shimano rotors (at least cheaper ones) are quite a bit heavier. Other than that it does the job fine, it's light and stable. Used a 160mm and 200m one, both stay cool and good. (200m ofc has better heat management) but 160mm on rear is fine (180 or 200 on front)

Picked one of these up on sale. Also an NSB front post mount bracket and with only these 2 items the front brake performance was improved massively. Can't really tell the increased weight but more than worthwhile tradeoff even if there was. Remember to bed brake pads in when fitting new rotor.
